SocratesGPT (“we”, “us”) is a reasoning tool at socratesgpt.app. This policy explains what information we handle when you use it and why.
What we collect
- Your ChatGPT sign-in. When you choose “Continue with ChatGPT”, OpenAI gives us access and refresh tokens that let SocratesGPT make requests on your ChatGPT plan, along with your account identifier, email address, and name. We store these on our server only. Your browser receives an opaque session cookie, never the tokens themselves.
- Your conversations. Your messages, the dialogue, the reasoning map, and verdicts are saved in your own browser (local storage) so you can return to them. Each time you send a message, the relevant conversation content is sent to our server and on to the AI model that answers it. We do not keep a copy of your conversations on our server after the request is complete.
- Early-access sign-ups. If you request early access, we collect your email address. The form is processed by Formspark. We use your email only to contact you about SocratesGPT access, and will delete it on request.
- Usage records. For each AI request we log technical details: time, model, token counts, response time, and a random session identifier. These records do not contain your messages.
How we use it
- To sign you in and run Socrates on your ChatGPT plan.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the service, and to understand its cost and performance.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use your conversations to train AI models.
Who we share it with
- OpenAI processes your messages when Socrates runs on your ChatGPT plan, under OpenAI’s own terms and privacy policy. Usage counts against your plan, and you can limit or revoke SocratesGPT’s access in your ChatGPT settings.
- Formspark receives early-access form submissions on our behalf.
- Infrastructure providers that host and deliver the site process data on our behalf.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to run the service: a sign-in session cookie and a short-lived cookie that protects the sign-in flow. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.
Retention and your choices
- Sign out at any time to end your session. Ask us to delete your stored sign-in data and we will.
- Conversations in your browser stay until you delete them or clear your browser’s site data.
- Usage records are kept for as long as needed to run and improve the service.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Email us to use them.
Children
SocratesGPT is not intended for anyone under 13, or under the minimum age required to use ChatGPT in their country.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
